A professional third-party compliance review service for Homeowners Associations and Architectural Review Committees across the country. Consistent, legally defensible, digitally delivered - with no geographic limitation.

SERVICES, HOW IT WORKS, WHY US?, AND CREDENTIALS
The Service
joseph c duda consulting provides independent, third-party architectural plan review for Homeowners Associations and their Architectural Review Committees (ARCs).
Whether your HOA governs single-family homes, attached units, or a large-scale master-planned community, we deliver thorough, well-documented compliance reviews that protect your association, support your ARC, and keep your community standards intact. Reviews are conducted remotely and delivered digitally -
meaning geography is never a barrier.
We serve HOAs nationwide!
How It Works
submit
Your HOA or ARC submits project documents digitally - design guidelines, specific hot button checklists, prior reviews, architectural plans, site-specific information, specifications, material samples, or photos.
Submittals and analyses are handled
by review phase or batch.
We accept PDFs or Word Docs.
analyze
Joseph and the team review all submitted materials against your CC&Rs, design guidelines, and applicable architectural standards. Every review is conducted with the eye of a licensed architect, a licensed contractor, and a seasoned HOA Design Review Director -
catching issues others miss.
deliver
A written review and, often, a redlined drawing package, is returned to your ARC, typically within 5-7 business days. Our reports are clear, documented, and defensible - giving your board a solid foundation for any approval
or denial decision.
your arc takes action
Armed with a professional third-party opinion, your ARC can use the final report and marked-up drawings to support and document its decision and act with confidence. We're available for follow-up questions on
any review we conduct.
Why joseph c duda consulting
Most plan reviewers are architects. Or contractors. Joseph is both - dually licensed in the State of California as a Registered Architect and a General Contractor. That combination means he scrutinizes a set of plans the way a designer would and evaluates execution risk the way a builder would. For your HOA, that means fewer surprises, better decisions, and documentation that holds up.

He's not just a reviewer hired from the outside - he's been on the inside. As Director of Community Standards and Design Review Services for 29 distinct developments within the Las Campanas Master Association in Santa Fe, NM, Joseph oversaw all design review for one of the Southwest's most prestigious master-planned communities, growing design review fee revenue by 30% annually and managing 170+ concurrent luxury residential projects at a time. He knows HOA operations from
the board room to the jobsite.
Experience
Joseph C. Duda, RA, NCARB is a licensed architect and general contractor based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, with over 35 years of experience spanning architecture, construction, construction management, and community standards administration.

He earned his Master of Architecture from UCLA and has since led multi-million-dollar capital improvements programs, managed complex construction portfolios, and directed community design standards for some of the most demanding clients and communities in the American West.

His tenure as Director of Community Standards and Design Review Services at Las Campanas Master Association - THE New Mexico premier master-planned community on 4,900 acres - gave him firsthand experience directing an ARC at scale: setting policy, training volunteer board members, adjudicating disputes, and building the kind of consistent, well-documented review process that protects an association legally and
preserves community character over time.

Today, through joseph c duda consulting, he brings that same institutional-grade rigor to HOAs of all sizes - as an independent, third-party reviewer who has no stake in the outcome
other than getting it right.
